Taco Bell Gives Man Who Survived on Hot Sauce Free Food For a Year

Man gets free taco bell for a year

An Oregon man who said he managed to survive five days in the woods by eating nothing but packets of Taco Bell's fire sauce, won't be going hungry anytime soon. The fast food chain said they're hooking Jeremy Taylor up with free food for a year, including "all the sauce packets that come with it."

The 36-year-old Taylor was discovered Friday in his Toyota 4Runner along with his dog Ally, in the Deschutes National Forest after a snowmobiler happened upon his stranded vehicle. Taylor was last seen on Feb. 24 fueling up his car and says he became stranded in deep snow while driving down a U.S. Forest Service road. When he woke, he found more snow had fallen, making it impossible for his car to escape. He says he managed to stay warm over the next few days by occasionally starting up his vehicle and eating a few taco sauce packets left in his vehicle as food.

"Thank you everyone, I'm safe my Ally dog is safe. I really appreciate all the help. Got lucky, lets (sic) never do that again. I'll be in touch with everyone soon," he wrote on his Facebook page late Friday.

In response to a friend's comment about how Taylor survived by eating three Taco Bell Hot Sauce packets during his ordeal, he wrote: "Taco Bell fire sauce saves lives!"

Taco Bell appeared to be just as impressed by Taylor's survival story.

“We’re very glad Jeremy and Ally are okay. We know our sauce packets are amazing, but this takes it to a whole new level,” the fast-food company told Oregon Live in a statement. “We’re in touch with Jeremy and have sent him a well-deserved care package, a year’s supply of Taco Bell, and of course, all the sauce packets that come with it.”
