A married Russian elementary school teacher was sentenced to nine years after being convicted of committing "violent acts of sexual nature" against an 11-year-old student.
Anna Plaksyuk, 27, was accused of forcing the child to touch her breasts, making him kiss her on the lips and having "stroked his private parts through his clothes" when she kept him behind after class, RuNews24 reported via the New York Post. Plaksyuk also sent the 11-year-old nude photos of herself and demanded he do the same.
Plaksyuk, who was 25 at the time of the incident, was convicted of "violent acts of a sexual nature committed against a person under 14 years of age" and prohibited from teaching for a further year after being released from jail. The victim's mother reportedly found explicit messages and photos shared between her son and the "popular" teacher through WhatsApp.
The mother accused Plaksyuk of "systematic flirting, stroking and kissing" when she reported her to the school's principal, at which point the teacher blamed the boy for the abuse, which had spanned four months before she was caught. Plaksyuk claimed the 11-year-old had "shown signs of attention" and "made compliments to her" prior to the abuse taking place.
The boy was absent from school for an extended period of time after Plaksyuk's arrest, his mother confirmed to local reporters. Plaksyuk's actions shocked other parents, which included one who described her as a "dream teacher" while others claimed there were no signs of her "dark side" shown in the past.
Plaksyuk's husband never publicly commented on his wife's conviction and it's unclear whether they're still together.
