Greenville pitchers Trey Ball and Mike Adams teamed up for a four-hitter as the Greenville Drive shut out the Lexington Legends 5-0 Sunday night.


Wendell Rijo’s two-run homer in the fourth inning put the Drive in front.  Kevin Mager’s solo shot in the fifth made the score 3-0.


The Drive added a run in the seventh on singles by Sam Travis, Mager and Danny Bethea, and scored a single run in the ninth.


Ball (3-9) worked the first six and two-thirds innings.  He allowed three hits, walked two batters and struck out four.  Adams finished the game and allowed one hit.

Legends starter Luke Farrell (1-10) was the losing pitcher.  He also pitched six and two-thirds innings, and allowed six hits and four runs.  He struck out nine batters and walked one.


The Legends open a three-game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators Monday night in Kannapolis.  Game time is 7:05 p.m.
